Taraxacon officinale also known as dandelion or dandelion, is a flowering perennial plant which is rich in folic acid, magnesium, phosphorus, polyphenols , beta-carotene and vitamins A, C, D, B1, B2 and B6. It is considered ideal for lowering cholesterol, revitalizes liver function, improves digestion, cleanses the blood, increases the body’s defensive capacity (immune system) and cleanses the body of toxins. It is used to treat liver disease, constipation and skin conditions such as eczema and acne. It is a diuretic and acts against bacteria that cause urinary tract infections, reduces retention but increases potassium unlike other diuretic herbs. In addition, it has been shown to reduce blood sugar levels, which is why its use is recommended for people suffering from diabetes.
