Properties
Organic Basil is used as a seasoning in foods. It also acts against headache, dizziness and migraine. It stimulates memory and after each meal it helps in better digestion of food. Basil is a very aromatic plant whose dried leaves give freshness and Mediterranean taste to food. It is an antioxidant, analgesic, antibacterial with anti-inflammatory action herb, rich in trace elements such as magnesium, potassium, iron and calcium as well as vitamin C. We drink it as a tea after meals because it helps digestion or add it to food for aroma and flavour. Basil goes well in red sauce recipes, pasta, pizza, is a staple in pesto sauce, meatballs, stuffed peppers, meats, soups and mushrooms.
Harvest
The harvesting of organic basil takes place on Mount Holomontas at an altitude of 450m to 900m. The selection of herbs is based on their growth stage. We always collect those parts of the plant that are suitable for the creation of the products, but without inactivating its growth. The suitable stems are harvested by hand and then dried in specially designed natural drying areas, without the use of environmental machinery.
Standardization
Once the drying of the herbs is completed, the stems are again hand-sorted to be taken to the standardization process, which takes place in certified, specially designed areas, with modern machinery to ensure the quality and safety of the final product.
